Bonefishing in SD Bay

Saturday, May 02, 2009

Fished the back bay with friends Terry Hastings and his brother Sean Hastings. Terry and I used Ghost Shrimp while Sean steadily worked away with the fly rod. The water was a toasty 72-72 degrees with the Bonefish going pretty much wide open for us. There were very few single hookups for the morning, with more doubles and even triple hookups going. We ended the day with about 20 Bonefish caught and safely released by using hooks with crimped barbs. Sean released 3 Bonefish on the fly along with a few other different species.

Overall it was a great day on the water with very little to no wind and lot’s of laughs! Enjoy the shots…
