Despite the wind, rain and hail predictions for the day, Mark was still fired up on trying to get on the water to find some fish, and I was happy to oblige. First thing in the morning it dumped hard on us and pretty much soaked us down. But after that one major down pour, it all seemed to stay away the rest of the day. It was still cloudy and pretty windy, but overall a good day. Even the fish cooperated a bit with us despite the weather!
Mark with one of many Sand Bass caught that day.
A Sculpin that Mark caught. This fish is very poisonous.
Mark with a small Halibut.
Close up of the Halibut.
The Navy Seals were doing trainings in the back bay which was very entertaining to watch! They were jumping out of the Helicopters into the water and then getting picked back up a few minutes later. Here are some shots of their “fun”.
More Navy Seal pictures.
A Spotted Bay Bass to bump up the species count to four.
And close to the end of the day Mark hooked into this nice Halibut using plastics. This fish was released.
Overall a great day on the water thanks to Mother Nature sparing us! We ended the day with 5 different species and about 20+ fish for the day. Hopefully this weekly rain/wind slows down and allows Spring to bloom.
Until the next report, tight lines!
