I entered this tournament with Terry Hastings and his dad Pat Hastings on their boat Minorca. It was the first time any of us had done this tournament and it turned out to be a great time! Not only does the money go to a great cause, Hospice, but you also get a full blow breakfast, a bag of goods and a full dinner and drinks after the tournament. It was really well put together and a really great time! I don’t know where we placed in the tournament, but I believe we beat out over half of the other teams. Unfortunately we weren’t getting into the usual quality reds or Ling Cod that we tend to find. The winners pulled in some amazing fish by fishing really deep (600’ +).
If you have not done this event I highly recommend it! Even if you don’t Rock Cod fish much, you can’t go wrong with all that you get out of your entry fee. Plus there is a raffle too with great prizes! The dinner was excellent, the drinks were cheap and the Tommy Bahama girls were working the crowd with endless free shots of some good Rum.Overall it was a great tournament and I can’t wait to enter next years!
