Wade Bonefishing Back Bay!

Sunday, June 13, 2010

Wade wanted to squeeze in a fishing trip while in San Diego for a convention. We worked out a 2pm start time from Anthony’s little dock they have which is just down the street from the Marriott he was staying at. I picked him up at the dock at 2pm on the dot and we ran to the back bay to try for some Bonefish. The bite started off steady for the first hour and a half then slowed a bit for about 30-45 minutes. Slow being a fish every 5-10 minutes or so, not 1-2 minutes. Then the tide turned and started to push back in and things began to heat up fast! By 5pm the bite ignited with multiple double hookups! At some points are bait’s were hit immediately when they touched bottom! It was a great bite on Bonefish with a mix of Yellowfin Croaker! The great part of this is that since it was only Wade on the boat I was able to fish with him. Most of the time I get to watch and help others catch fish, so this was a nice change, especially with a bite like this!

Here are some pictures from the days catch:

Overall a great day on the water. The wind died down, the bite only got better as the day went on and I didn’t have to get up early! It doesn’t get much better than that.

Until the next report, tight lines!
Captain Peter
